What is the Laser Vein Removal Treatment?

Laser Vein Removal, also known as laser vein therapy or laser vein ablation, is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure designed to eliminate or reduce the appearance of unwanted veins on the face, legs, or other areas of the body. It targets spider veins, varicose veins, and other vascular lesions that may be cosmetically undesirable or causing discomfort.

How does it work?

This treatment harnesses the power of advanced laser technology to selectively target and heat the hemoglobin within the blood vessels, causing them to coagulate and eventually collapse. The Elite+ laser system can be used on all skin types, and is an effective treatment for nearly everyone. During the procedure, you will lie down on a treatment table and a gel will be applied to the areas that we’ll treat. The gel will act as a safety barrier between the laser and your skin. You will also be asked to wear protective goggles for additional safety. We will then use a hand piece to move the laser up and down the targeted area until it is completely covered. Patients often describe the feeling of the laser to be similar to a rubber band snapping against their skin. Elite+’s built-in cooling system helps us to deliver targeted laser energy to your skin without overheating its surface. Treatment times will vary from patient-to-patient, but on average, it takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

What results can I expect?

After one treatment, you should notice improvements to your face and legs. Many patients only require a few treatments to achieve their desired results. It is also possible that some of the veins will disappear after one treatment, while others may turn slightly grey or purple. This colour change usually fades 10-14 days after treatment. During your initial consultation, we can determine the number of treatments you will need. On Average 3-5 treatments, at 3-4 week intervals, are needed to achieve the desired aesthetic result.

It is important to note that the Elite+ laser is not a cure for vein disease. Spider veins are generally progressive. But some patients may experience spontaneous stabilization of their condition in the early stages of treatment.* If you come in during the early stages of the disease, Elite+ may prevent the progression and cause regression of the underlying disease process.

How many treatments do I need?

The number of treatments required depends on various factors, including the size, color, and location of the veins, as well as individual skin characteristics and treatment goals. While some clients may achieve satisfactory results after a single session, others may require multiple treatments to achieve their desired outcome. In general, a series of treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart is recommended to maximize results and ensure optimal vein clearance.
